Global Response

Overview

The very nature of marine debris requires a coordinated, global response. Although the sources of marine debris can be pinpointed to specific land or marine origins, the oceans' tide and currents carry debris long distances, often across the globe.

The marine debris problem belongs to everyone.

To be effective, the response to this problem must be as large as the problem itself. And, indeed, international, national and provincial/state government agencies, private enterprise, environmental groups and individuals are getting involved.
